Graduated from Brunel University in 2006 with a Ba in Industrial Design. Currently working with FWT, designing innovative outdoor products and garden furniture. During my short time at this company I have already had success with the design and production of a revolutionary folding trampoline and numerous pieces of furniture due to hit the shelves of a major UK retailer in summer 2008. Over the past five years I have learnt various skills to refine my abilities as a designer, including hand drawing and various computer based drawing techniques as well as model making and prototyping. My current role demands that I liaise with engineers and productions facilities in the far east to ensure that products are mass produced to pass strict CE standards and respond to the briefs set by the sales team. During my studies I spent a year at the Politecnico di Milano, Italy, where I gained knowledge in the world of international design, and further strengthened my abilities to communicate, both through graphic communication and foreign language. I have gained a great deal of experience working with clients such as B&W Jaguar and HP at Native Design, London. A key factor in my approach to design is to take inspiration from nature. I am particularly interested in the way nature manages to overcome complex problems. I often experiment with these ideas and research new materials, in order to find useful and innovative ways to apply them to design. I am forward thinking and have a wide knowledge of functionality and the production techniques involved in creating design for manufacture. I believe a fundamental part of design is the ability to communicate an idea to others, and feel I posses the skills necessary to achieve this. I was short-listed for the final six of the Audi Design Foundation's Designs of Substance, and was chosen to be one of ten ambassadors of this years Free-Range show. My designs have appeared in numerous journals including the front cover of “Art of England”.
